RSM Art Gallery presents Judy Gelles: "The Fourth Grade Project"

Monday, Sept. 24, 2018
5:30–7:30 p.m. EDT

RSM invites you to join us for the opening reception of Judy Gelles: "The Fourth Grade Project."

The upcoming exhibition at the RSM Art Gallery will be a photo documentary by Judy Gelles titled "The Fourth Grade Project." The intriguing photographs of students from around the world will be paired with sculpture created by fourth graders from the Harvard Kent and Warren Prescott Schools located in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Both the photographer and students will be attending the reception.

The RSM Art Gallery will have 20 images on display from schools in South Africa, China, England and Italy. The diverse selection will showcase part of the large body of photographs. Gelles is developing a curriculum and website for teachers around the world to use in their classrooms. The lesson plans based on stories from "The Fourth Grade Project" will help students learn to embrace each other in order to create a more tolerant and just world. More information about the project can be found at

The RSM Art Gallery pairs each exhibition with a nonprofit organization that receives 20 percent of sales during the exhibition. Proceeds from "The Fourth Grade Project" exhibition will be donated to the RSM Boston Foundation. The RSM Boston Foundation is managed, funded and staffed by Boston firm employees, and its mission aligns with the RSM US Foundation goal to provide assistance to today’s youth in the areas of hunger, housing, health and education. The RSM Boston Foundation inspires staff to become involved, make a difference, give back to their communities and the causes they care about and, in doing so, to support one another and build a stronger Boston.
